The best part about being back is that I’m genuinely looking forward to getting back to the work I love. I think in our culture, and in many others, we fall into a cycle of hyper-vigilance or “work, work, work” and “do, do, do”. Our bodies weren’t built for everlasting running—WE NEED REST. The yin and the yang, the dark and the light, masculine and feminine, work AND rest. To maintain balance we ALL must hit the reset button sometimes. Otherwise, the work we love (whether that be occupational, relational, familial) can become laborious and in that labor we lose our love of what we’re doing. 💜💙💚
Thailand was that much needed rest so I could find my equilibrium. Maybe the extended Thanksgiving weekend was that for you? If not—find that rest! Return to balance! It’s the only way to stay sane and remain in love with what you do.
