Arm Balancing: Exploring Power and Grace on the Mat If you have ever found yourself scoping out the nearest exit sign when your teacher invites you to try Parsvabakasana (side crow) this workshop is for you. Students often ask, will I EVER be able to do Eka Pada Bakasana ( Single Legged Crow) or Astavakrasana ( The Crazy 8's) and the answer is always "YES!!" and so can you. Arm Balances create resistance in us because too often we have tried to force ourselves into these postures. Without being aware of how to find the "sweet spot" in the pose, we leave our mat feeling as if certain asanas are just unattainable. That is the farthest from the truth, yoga teaches us to channel our inner power through breath and bandha work so we can ease our way through challenges -- arm balances are no exception.
